Children at Park Gate School got an insight into the life of a dancer when they had a workshop from the English National Ballet.
The children had a visit at school from Annie Dunkley and Morgan Hayes from the ballet company ahead of their performance of The Nutcracker at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton.

Pupils had the chance to express themselves with dance moves before they had an insight into some of the scenes from the actual show. They were then due to follow that up with watching a matinee performance at The Mayflower today (November 22).
Park Gate Primary School Head Teacher Rebecca Kingsland said it was a tremendous opportunity for the 60 children that were able to take part in the event.
“One of the most important things is that this gives some of the boys especially the chance to experience some dance,” she said.
“Most of the children have never seen a full orchestra in a theatre before or seen a ballet so they will benefit from that experience too. To have actually done a choreographed part of the ballet in the school and then to see it on stage performed by the dancers will be great.”
